What You Can Count On from Me

1. Your experience will count for more than anything I say or suggest.

2. I will do my best to help you find how Focusing can improve the quality of your life dramatically.

3. I will make Focusing as accessible as I possibly can.

4. I will keep whatever happens in this group deeply confidential.

5. I will provide some material along the way that I think will help. I might suggest some things that I do not provide.

6. I will do my best to keep the group moving forward at a rate that fits everyone.

7. I will look for things to laugh about.

What I will ask for from you

1. That you take your experience as more important than what I, or anyone else, say.

2. That you bring as much of your best of a self as you can. There is an easy test to tell if you are doing so. Ask yourself, “Am I open? Am I curious? Do I feel available to compassion?” If the answer is no to any, pay attention to what is in the way. This is all anyone can ask.

3. If you do not get something that is happening or are unhappy with it, please say so.

4. Hold what happens in the group with confidentiality.

5. Ask for help.

6. Doing homework is very important in this class. Do it and you will succeed.

7. Enjoy yourself.
